The FOM Arkansas South Central Legacy Division kicked off with a great meal at the Assembly of God Church in Dumas, AR. 11 teams gathered Friday night for a time of fellowship and a great message from Director Scott Gilbreth on keeping your 5 fish alive as well as becoming “Alive” yourself. Boat numbers were drawn and all of the teams were excited for the next day’s tournament.
The 11 teams were blasted off at safe light and were greeted with cool temperatures in search of the winning sack. With the full moon and the spawn in full swing, anticipation was high. The teams gathered back at the weigh-in at 1:00 to see where they placed. Coming in 1st with an impressive five fish limit weighing 16.85lbs was the Father and Son team of Scott and Dakota Pennington. They also took big bass honors with a 4.39lb lunker. Second place went to the father and son team of Adam and Tucker Starks with a 5 fish limit weighing 14.86lbs. The third place team of Mike Courtney and his granddaughter Halie weighed in a 5 fish limit of 10.90lbs. 2nd place big bass honors were split between the Father/Son team of Adam and Tucker Starks and the team of Hunter Baughman and Dayton Taylor. Both teams had a fish weighing in at 3.59lbs.
Each team that fished qualified themselves to fish in our Legacy National Championship in July. Our next tournament will be help at Lake Hamilton on May 5th. Find a kid and take them fishing, you will make memories that last a lifetime!
