28 teams competing for their chance to make it to the National Championship in 2023 on Lake Hartwell came to a close today on Lake Hickory in North Carolina. The fishing was tough but that didn't stop the teams from across the FOM footprint pushing through to scratch for a top 6 qualifying spot to the National Championship.
As we saw on Friday the bite was tough, but the majority of the teams caught fish to set the stage for a shootout that was close on Saturday. Cloud cover and a little rain helped increase the weights slightly to set the field for our qualifiers.
The team of Tidwell finished with 19.64 pounds and took the win for the Wildcard event. Whitfield and Hunnicutt finished in 2nd with 17.68. Not far behind was the third place team of Ashley and Riddle with 17.09.
This was the last qualifier for our National Championship event on Lake Hartwell in 2023. We hope to see you all next year.
