The Fishers of Men Durabraid Legacy National Championship kicked off on Thursday night at First Baptist Church in Decatur Alabama where our Host Decatur - Morgan County Tourism led by Don Dukmineer and Danielle Gibson treated our anglers to an awesome Bar B Que dinner courtesy of Lawlers.
Afterwards GSM Outdoors SR VP of Fishing Crispin Powley bought a great message about knowing Christ in a personal way. Several decisions were made!
Day 1 dawned clear with light winds with heat index forcast to reach 100+ degrees. In spite of the heat our anglers reported a good day of fishing with 39 3-fish limits out of the 48 boat field.
Leading the charge on Day 1 was the team of Garrett and Steven Cromer with 10.26 lbs anchored by Garrett's Junior Big Bass a 5.29 lb beauty!
In 2nd is the team of Matt and Conner Fair with 9.83 lbs
Sitting in 3rd is the team of Tanner Lindler and Joseph Frierson with 9.61 lbs
in 4th place is the team of Steve Watson and Landin Norris with 9.55 lbs
Rounding out the top 5 is the team of Tim Defoor and Jameson Nolen with 9.52 lbs
It took just over 7 lbs to sit inside the 16th place money cut
