Lake Poinsett Results: Mar 22, 2008
The Northeast Arkansas Legacy Division kicked off the 2008 seasons with 16 teams competing in the first tournament held on Lake Poinsett in Harrisburg, Arkansas.
The Friday night meeting was hosted by Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg. With 53 in attendance they served a fine meal of Lasagna with all the fixings. The meeting got under way with Terry and Kara Smith, a Legacy Team, singing two great songs of worship. Following this Brother Danny Helms of Calvary Baptist Church brought us a message about how although we think we do what we want, we should let God tell us what he really wants us to do.
After this the rules were reviewed, door prizes given out, and blast off numbers drawn.
As sun light broke the boats blasted off. The massive amounts of rainfall the previous weeks had the water up and muddy a bit but proved not to be a problem for most of the anglers.
After the first few teams had a limit it looked to be a close race with the weights around the 5lb mark until the team of Terry and Kara Smith came to the scales.
Smith and Smith had a limit weighing 12.58lbs with a big bass of 4.95. The won first overall, First Big Bass and First Bonus Bucks for a total of $518.
Second overall and Bonus Bucks with a weight of 5.61lbs was Ron and Hunter Mounts for $274.
Third overall, Bonus Bucks and 2nd Big Bass was Mitchell and Dylan Drum with 5.52 for $188.
Fourth overall went to Roger and Hunter Traynom with 5.47 for $128.
Fifth over all went to Kevin and Dylan Owens with 4.75 for $72.
