Luke
10:27
He answered: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind” and “Love your neighbor as yourself”.
I just opened the bible and there was Luke 10:27
The Friday night meeting at First United Methodist Church was opened with 19 teams and guests. We were blessed with a fantastic dinner prepared by Pastor Rick, Carl, Monica, Lisa, Donny, Jessica and the kids. We were blessed to have Jason Miksit as our quest speaker. Breaking the “Braids” of sin, is like breaking braided fishing line. It’s very difficult and there’s a lot of resistance. Usually, my braided line breaks at the base of the knot, which is the foundation “or connection” between the line and hook. Like my life, not paying attention to my foundation and connection with my Lord is my weakest link. Our Lord is our foundation and “connection”. That’s a great place to start when trying to break those braids. Our Lord can help us with our “Braids” in life. We only need to do as Luke tells us.

The day started off with a little wind and was cooler than expected. The second tournament of the season kicked off out of Turners Creek, on the Sassafras. The Saturday morning tournament started with 19 teams participating from five states. We had two new teams join us for this event.
You had better caught them on the main river before 10:00. I looked towards Georgetown and saw a massive flotilla heading out to the bay. Needless to say, Wags, French and I ducked into the nearest creek. Ducking and weaving seemed to be the course for most of the teams, with many staying in creeks. However, at the end of a great day, the team of Jeff Mandes and Mike Morris took first place honors with five bass weighing 17.01 lbs. Second place went to Tim Stump and Lester Boney bringing in 16.82 pounds of fish. Coming off a win on the Potomac, Ansbach and Follmer finished third with 16.71lbs. The rest of the field included the fourth place team of Warder and Burket (16.56 lbs) and Walls and Alexander finishing fifth (14.44 lbs). This tournament season is setting up for a tight race for the championship.
I would like to thank the Delaware FOM staff (Cindy, Karen and Frank) for always doing a wonderful job. They truly make the division a “Family Affair”.
The next FOM tournament will be held on June 28, 2008 on the Pocomoke, out of Shad Landing State Park. The Friday night meeting and cookout will be held at the Lynn Haven Baptist Church, in Pocomoke City. Registrations opens at 5pm, dinner (Fried Chicken) at 6 and meeting at 7:00pm. On that Friday you may practice up until 5:00 pm. See you there.
If you would like to donate your time to help a youth with Cognitive Disabilities learn to fish on Sunday June 8, 2008 from noon to five, please e-mail me or give me a call.
GOD BLESS
Don’t forget about our legacy tournament on the Upper Bay, schedule for June 21st.
