Saturday, May 31st was the third tournament event for the 2008 season of the VA East Division of Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail. With blast off temperatures in the 70s summer is just around the corner. The temperatures and humidity rose throughout the day as temperatures rose to the low 90s. The water was partially stained with temperatures in the low to mid 70’s.
The pre-tournament meeting included food, fun and fellowship in an uplifting environment. 160 fishermen and family members attended the meeting hosted by Waters Edge Community Church. Waters Edge’s own W.E.P.T. (Water Edge Praise Team) provided much entertainment for those in attendance. Glory Bag inventor and Tournament Angler Tommy Ball delivered a truly inspirational message. The Lord touched many hearts with 1 attendee making their first profession to Christ with an additional 13 attendees indicated that they rededicated their life to Christ. I want to thank Pastor Bo and Sherry Gould and the rest of the hard working folks from Waters Edge Community Church for assisting with the meal preparation and service. I would also like to thank Mary Willis and her teams at the Lake Motel and the Best Western, their hard work was apparent to all in attendance. May the Lord continue to bless the many hands helped make this event a huge success! Lastly I would like to thank the VA East tournament Committee. Your service and sacrifices are appreciated by all of the of the teams. Thanks for all that you do!
