WOW!! Was that really our 5th and final divisional event for 2009?
This has been yet another great season. We have really enjoyed each event, especially all the people that make up this division (anglers, sponsors, churches, speakers, and musicians). It has been a blessing to be a part of this organization.
We want to thank Jeff Wright of Reel Champion Outdoors for sharing the simple truth with us Friday night. It is easy for most of us fisherman to relate to the analogy between fishing and the Gospel of Christ. Sometimes it is so hard to allow God to be our guide, but when we do, the "true" joy of Christ can be experienced in our daily walk.
We also want to thank Grace Baptist Church for hosting this event. David, Katie, and all those that made our trip there so enjoyable... we thank you for your sacrifice.
The weather on Saturday was quite pleasant, especially for June in SC. The fish, however, were not as happy with the weather as we were. The sacks were not as heavy as we anticipated, but there were still over 200lbs of fish weighed in from our field of 28 boats.
The winners were fishing flukes and spooks searching for active fish on the overcast day.
The following were our leaders:
1st Place- Bryan Cothran and Sam Osburn; 15.62 lbs
2nd Place- Steve Fulbright and Linden Roberts; 13.86 lbs
3rd Place- David and Michelle Hicks; 13.78 lbs
BIG FISH- David and Katie Barnes; 5.3 lbs (spinnerbait)
Top Male/ Female Team for 2009- Tony and Laurene Richardson
POINTS CHAMPS for 2009- Sam Osburn and Bryan Cothran
