TRITON Owners Tournament - Kissimmee Chain Results: Nov-22-2008

The TRITON OWNERS Tournament was held on Saturday November 22 on the Kissimmee Chain using the Southport Ramp on West Lake Toho. The Florida TRITON Dealers from Advanced Marine in St. Cloud, Anglers Marine Service in Ft Lauderdale, Lake Placid Marine, Miller Boating Center in Ocala, Power Source Marine in Seffner, and Tri State Marine in Tallahassee combined their efforts, along with the Fishers of Men to host this Event.

The temperature of 45 degrees along with a 20 mph wind had a wind chill of the mid-thirties during the early morning registration and blast-off. During the registration, raffle tickets were sold for some great prizes to be raffled off during the BBQ after the Weigh-in. The blast-off took place at 6:25 with a few Teams locking down to the lower Lakes, but most boats stayed and fished West Lake Toho. During the day, the wind was between 10-20 mph with the sun shining.

The first flight of boats began arriving at 3:00 p.m. TRITON 20X3 Owner Walter Swafford with his Team Member Hojin Chang, weighed in 19.2 pounds to win 1st Place and $2000.00, including the Big Fish of the Day (5.46). Walter and Hojin made the trip to Lake Kissimmee and used Git’Em Baits in 6 feet of water to catch their 5-fish limit. Russ Osborne and Micah Silverman fished out of a TRITON 20X and also made the trip to Kissimmee to catch their14.94 pounds to win 2nd Place. The Team flipped Big Show Craw in 3-4 feet of water. Fishing out of a TRITON 20X2, Johnny Stambaugh weighed in 13.81 pounds to take 3rd Place. Johnny stayed near the south end of West Lake Toho and used spinner baits in 5 feet of hydrilla for his 5-fish limit. Larry Cahan and Adam Hemphill weighed in a close 4th Place of 13.09 pounds. Fishing out of a TRITON 20, Larry and Adam flipped ZOOM Baits in Goblets Cove in 4 feet of hydrilla.

Oscar Jackson and Billy Bowen weighed in12.87 pounds to win 5th Place, followed by John Kremer and Doug Gilley who weighed in 8.58 pounds for 6th Place. Jon and Kyle Rogers weighed in the 2nd Big Fish of the Day (5.0) and also took 7th Place with 7.81 pounds.

Before the prizes were awarded, everyone was invited for a meal of sloppy joes, baked beans, slaw, and desserts catered by Milton and Gale Neu. A TRITON Jon Boat and trailer, Power Pole, Trolling Motor, and a Stainless Steel prop were just some of prizes raffled. It was announced that the 2009 TRITON Owners Tournament will be on November 21 at the Kissimmee City Ramp on West Lake Toho.
