Camp Mack was the ramp used for the March 6th Kissimmee Chain Fishers of Men Tournament with the Team of John Brazzell and Josh Davis winning First Place with 21.28 pounds. Josh and John used “Gitem Warlocks on V&M Shaky Heads” to cull through thirty fish and were fishing in water depths of six to twenty-five feet. Competing in a field of forty-four other skilled fishing teams, the Team had less than three quarter pounds over the 2nd place Team of Keith Carson and John Cox who weighed in 20.63 pounds.

Keith and John traveled to West Lake Toho in their TRITON Boat to toss Carolina Rigs with ten inch worms in 7 feet of hydrilla and culled through ten bass to make their five-fish limit.

Bringing in another five-fish limit was the Third Place Team of Jason Casteel and Dave Robertson with a total weight of 19.13 pounds. Also fishing out of a TRITON Boat, Jason and Dave were using Senko's and Rattle Traps in 4 feet of clear water. Their largest fish was a 6.22 pound largemouth. All three Top Teams had entered the optional Bonus Buck Program and were awarded additional prize money.

Weighing-in the Big Fish of the Tournament was Travis Totman and Ken Lucas. The 6.57 pound bass brought their total weight to 18.19 pounds which was heavy enough for Fourth Place. Travis and Ken pitched jigs in shallow water and culled through twenty fish fishing out of their TRITON Boat. After the Friday Night Pre-Tournament Meeting, Travis learned that his Dad, Jerry Totman had passed away after a short illness. But Travis knew his Dad would want him to complete the Tournament. Mr. Jerry Totman had fished with the Florida Central Division in previous years, and we wholeheartedly pray for the Lord's comfort over his family.

Fifth Place was won by Mike Bruton and David Pegues with 15.39 pounds, followed by Tab Bowman and Wayne Swindle with their 15.13 pounds for Sixth Place that included the Second Big Fish of the Tournament weighing 6.31 pounds. Finishing up in the money was the Seventh Place team of Red Flowers and Mike Robinson with 14.53 pounds, and Bill Charland and Luke Smith with 13.11 pounds for Eighth place.

A total of twenty five five-fish limits were caught. Tournament total weight was 372.14 pounds from the 168 fish that were weighed in with all but one being released alive back into the Kissimmee chain. The morning weather was about 45 degrees. During the day, winds were 5-10 mph and the temperature rose to around 66-68 degrees, and water temperature between 55 to 59 degrees.

The Friday Night Pre-Tournament meeting was again held at Wayside Baptist Church on Camp Mack Road. Pastor Herb and the Members of Wayside provide a meal of smoked butt and chicken along with the trimmings. We thank Wayside Baptist Church for opening their doors to the Fishers of Men. Fellow FOM, Pastor Dennis Littleton from Palm Coast Baptist Church gave a inspirational message using Matthew 4:19 and questioned us about why Jesus call his first disciples from fishermen. We, as fishermen endure hardships during our tournaments and practice, but we strive towards the goal of catching the prize. Fishermen continue to win Tournaments, but also don't meets that goal always. But we keep enduring, longing for that First place Prize. With proper practice, we are qualified to win. God will meet you where you are at. The first disciples might not have been fully qualified, but through endurance they won the Prize of knowing the Lord.

Our next Team Series Tournament is April 17th on the Winter Haven Chain using the William G. Roe Ramp on Lake Shipp. The Friday Night Pre-Tournament Meeting will be at the First Nazarene Church of Winter Haven and more info is on the details for that Tournament on the FLC Division website at www.fomntt.com.

Upcoming on Sunday 14 March is the Bass Pro Shops Largemouth Tournament on the Butler Chain with the weigh-in being at the Orlando Bass Pro Shop. Entries are still available for this tournament
