We would like to thank the congregation from Dewey Rose Baptist Church for their warm hospitality. We enjoyed a wonderful meal of spaghetti and trimmings. I was able to manage a piece of strawberry cake. The night also featured several specials guests. The first being a fishing guru Travis Adams. Next, came the group of Lazarus Unwound, we were blessed by their musical talents. Finishing up our evening was the big HUGGY BEAR, Clarence Pope. He brought a message of how not to recede and keep our faith walking forward.
As the sun began to shine, 37 boats again took to the waters. The chilly 44 degree weather turned warm and so did the fishing. By days' end the temperature was mid 70's with plenty of fish being caught. Leading the event was the team of Scott Mull and Steve Garrett, weighing in a hefty sack of 17 plus pounds, along with taking the first big fish honor with an 8.60 lb largemouth. Second place went to the steady team of Terry Jackson and Roy Snyder. They brought a weight of 15.69 lbs, along with sharing second big fish with a 5.24 pounder. Rounding out the top three was previous points champs, Berry Parker and Robbie Buice. They pulled a bag 13.35 pounds. The winning team revealed their successful use of crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Congratulations to all teams!! What a day to be out on the lake.
We would also like to take this time to give a huge THANK YOU to all who donated to our fishing guru Travis Adams. We raised over $1,000.00 I am sure it is much needed and appreciated!!
We look forward to seeing you at Clark's Hill on April 17, where the topwater bite is sure to produce a big bag.
