Lake Clarks Hill Results: Apr 17, 2010
We had a wonderful pre-tournament meeting at Thomson First Baptist Church. The main course was fish and man was it good!! That was not the first time those guys had prepared a meal like that. Along with the fish, we enjoyed great "QUIET DOGS" (that is what we call hushpuppies around our neck of the woods)fries, coleslaw and a fare of sweet cakes.
Following our meal, we had Mark Bowers, minister of music for Thomson, provide us with several superb songs that encouraged us. One of our own spoke for the evening. Berry Parker gave us insight into his walk with the Lord and encouraged others to see Jesus in him.
Saturday morning we had 31 teams take to the waters of beautiful Lake Strom Thurmond (Clarks Hill, again where I am from)to land a big sack of fish. The skies were great and the fishing was not too bad either. As the sun rose, many of our teams already had a limit of fish. The team of Huntsinger and Blalock brought a hefty sack to scales, weighing a total of 22.20 pounds. No other team could match their performance, but they sure tried. Finishing second was the team of Sowash/ Robertson with 19.22 pounds. Rounding out the top three was the Snyder/Jackson team weighing in 16.14 pounds. 117 fish crossed the scales in which turned out to be an excellent day on the lake.
We invite you to join us for our next event on Lake Hartwell out of Big Oaks boat ramp on May 15. See you there!!!
