Collins and Furr Capture High Rock! Mixon and Sink win Points Championship!!!!!!!!
The Piedmont NC division of the Fishers Of Men finished out the regular season on a hot note at High Rock Lake.
The Friday night meeting was hosted by the Meadowview Presbyterian Church in Lexington, NC. A great dinner was served to the anglers and some of their families. A “bluesy” gospel sing preceded a challenging message by Jerry Blinson.
The next morning, 32 teams took on the waters of High Rock Lake near Salisbury, NC and the lake didn’t disappoint, but was hot! Much was to be decided at the end of this one…tournament winners, of course, and our Regional Qualifiers were to be named.
At the end of the day, 29 of the 32 teams weighed in bass and at the top of the board was the team of Dean Collins and Ray Furr with a total weight of 19.5 pounds. They also had the big bass of the tournament tipping the scales at 4.86 pounds earning them $1352.00. In second place was the team of CJ Johnston and Matt Stanley bringing 17.2 pounds to the scales and they took home $576.00. In third was the team of Robert Mixon and Steve Sink with 16.54 pounds that netted them $1382.00.
The team of AL Needham and Landon Brown finished fourth with 14.46 for $474.00. They also had the second big bass of the tournament at 4.66 pounds. Taking fifth place was Alvin Shaw and Cody Andrews with 13.36 pounds winning $288.00 and in sixth place and taking home $290.00 was the team of James Allred and Clarence Brickey with 13.34 pounds.

Rookie team of the year was Ken Shumate and Keith Nester
Big fish of the year was awarded to Richard and Wayne Bost with a 7.3 pounder
