ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY TO BE OUTDOORS IN GODS GREAT CREATION
Fishers of Men, Alabama South held their fifth and last official tournament of 2010 on June 26, 2010. The Friday night meeting was hosted by Prattmont Baptist Church in Prattville, AL. The churches men did a wonderful job and fed us a great meal of Hotdogs, Baked Beans and other goodies. Prattmont Baptist we appreciate your willing to host Alabama South again as you have in the past. Our speaker Friday night was Danny Tesseneer. He and his wife Denise were directors for Fishers of Men for a couple of years till they got the call to be Missionaries. They now have started a Bible College in India and travel there several times a year. Danny has spoken for us every time we have been to the Prattville area and we really appreciate his willingness to serve our Lord. Danny spoke to us about something we all need to be sure about. Have We Really Been Changed? In our world today you hear a lot about all the different ways you can go to Heaven. The reality of it though, is there is only One Way. That is through our Lord Jesus Christ. You have to be changed. Thank you Danny, for reminding us that there is only One Way to Heaven. There were no first time professions or rededications, but we did have one that had questions. Pray, that that person will receive the answers they need to make the decision our Lord would have them to make. We had 52 people present at the meeting and all 20 boats were represented at the meeting. We had two teams from Walt Higgins, Alabama Central Division to fish with us and appreciate them supporting Alabama South. Saturday morning the Moon was shining bright as it could be while we traveled out to Swift Creek. Safe light came early as the skies were clear as they could be. Official time was called at 5:26AM and the boats blasted off soon afterwards. As the morning got brighter so did the heat. At Swift Creek the set up area was under some shade trees and that was nice. Congratulations to Lane and Casey Williams. They took first place with 5 fish that weighed 13.90 Lbs. and first big fish with a fish that weighed 4.23 Lbs. They caught their fish on crankbaits and shakey heads on a ledge in Swift creek. Congratulations to Fred Raby and Walter McCartney. They took second place with 5 fish that weighed 11.77 Lbs. They caught their fish on Baby Brush Hogs and and in treetops. Congratulations to Brian and Kim Moye. They took third place with 5 fish that weighed 10.96 Lbs. They caught their fish on Spinner baits, Brush Hogs and Crankbaits. Congratulations to Don and Fay Goines. They took Fourth place with 5 fish that weighed 10.85 Lbs. They also took second big fish with a fish that weighed 3.73 Lbs. They caught their fish on Baby Brush Hogs and Lizards. There were 17 limits brought to the scales. There were 94 fish weighed in that weighed a total of 176.68 Lbs. Congratulations to the team of Larry and David Foshee. They are the Alabama South Points Champions. They are automatically qualified to go to the National Championship in April 2011. Fishers of Men, Alabama South is looking at the possibility of having an open tournament on August 21, 2010. If you are interested in fishing this open be looking for more information on this to come at a later date.
