Alabama Central Legacy Division our second Friday night meeting at Coosada Baptist Church in Coosada. River Region Guide Service provided a pizza meal which was enjoyed by the 53 people present. Linda Scott, a 4th grade teacher, was our guest speaker. She entertained the crowd with a dramatic story of Jonah. She stressed that when we run from God, He will always put us in a situation where we must rely on Him. She also stressed the importance of parents making the right decisions because their choices affect their children’s lives. She made the point that God always gives us a second chance.
Saturday morning dawned calm, but extremely foggy causing a 30-minute delay in launch. As the day wore on temperatures reached into the 90’s with partly cloudy skies. Our youth teams brought 82 fish to the scale weighting in at 158.69 pounds. Of our 19 teams, 12 had a five fish limit. First place and 1st bonus bucks went to the team of Will Brown & Hank Tidd with 14.13 pounds. This included 1st big bass at 3.93 lbs. Second place and 2nd bonus bucks went to the team of Jordan & Mike Cartee with 13.95 pounds. Third place went to the team of Emily & Steven Johnston with 11.64 pounds. Third bonus bucks went to the 4th place father/son team of Quintin & Buck Brackin. Second big bass, 3.50 lbs., was caught by the team of Steve Callins & Chandler Gautney. The father/son team of Mike & Jordan Cartee took home matching custom-built 2010 Legacy Points Champions casting rods.
