Our Friday night meeting was hosted by South Side Baptist Church in Athens. We were greeted by Boy Scouts Troup 24 members who directed the traffic in the parking lot and did an outstanding job. Everything was very orderly. I thank God for each one. We were also welcomed by Pastor Joe Thompson, Mike Miller, Dewyne Usleton and the senior sunday school class. We had a meal of fine southern fried chicken and all the fixins plus many great deserts! Everyone enjoyed the meal! We thank God for these caring and loving people. Pastor Joey gave us an outstanding sermon. We had two renewed commitments to Christ. That makes it all worth while. There were about 100 people in attendance. Saturday morning was cool and windy. The wind was with us all day which makes for tough day of fishing. We had 36 boats weigh in and some great strings! First place was Andrew Lambert & Lacey Lambert. They also had first place in bonus bucks with a total of 5 fish weighing 15.22 lbs. First big fish was Don Killingsworth & Rod Sparks with 6.02 lbs. Second place was Jack Napier Sr. & Jack Napier Jr and second place in bonus bucks with 5 fish weighing 14.48 lbs. Third place was Jarod Oden & Shane Seay with 5 fish weighing 14.05 lbs. Fourth place was Waymon Alexander & Ken Clark with 5 fish weighing 13.90 lbs. Fifth place was Jack NeSmith & Matt NeSmith and second big fish weighing 5.21 and total weight of 13.70. Sixth place was Jim Barnette & Jonathan Barnette and also third place in bonus bucks with 5 fish weighing 13.52 lbs. Seventh place was Gerald Gann & Jerry Beasley with 5 fish weighing 12.60 lbs.
