Friday night’s meeting was at First Assembly of God, this is by now a familiar place to Arkansas South. We had Cheese Burgers, Fries, Slaw, Baked Beans, Blackberry and Peach Cobbler topped with Ice Cream. This meal was compliments of Simmons First Bank & First Assembly of God. The ministry of FOM is the only reason I am a director and I am not alone, I have met many incredible directors now and they too share my passion for the ministry of FOM. One of the directors I have gotten to know is Mark Boling. He is a great director as I found out first hand from fishing his Arkansas Central division. He most importantly has a heart for God. A few months ago, Mark and I were talking and he shared with me how God was dealing with him to begin speaking to men. Since we were having the meeting at the church, which I pastor, it worked out perfect for me to have Mark come and speak to the men. He shared with us how we must make a choice in life because Jesus and Satan are both trying to catch us. They are presenting their lures, but we must make the choice, the RIGHT choice. Thank you Mark Boling you did and incredible job presenting the gospel.
It was threatening storms for the twenty teams starting their day under Pendleton Bridge on the Arkansas River Saturday, but it was great for fishing. It was overcast all day, but it never rained more than a light sprinkle. The teams went to work on putting together the best bag of fish of the season. In the first three tournaments of the year, it’s not uncommon to see bags over 20lbs, however, this year it would be our fourth tournament before we saw our first 20lbs sack. So now the points race is on for our anglers near the top.
The following were our leaders:
1st Place: 20.40lbs: Adam Starks & Philip Starks
2nd Place: 18.38lbs : Don Jones - Brad Rice
3rd Place: 14.57lbs : Dax Henderson and Derrek Nichols

Next month we will be on the AR River at Pendleton. We’ll be meeting at First Assembly of God Church in Dumas. Please invite your fishing buddies to come be a part of Fishers of Men.
