We met Friday night for our last tournament of the season. Again we met at First Assembly of God in Dumas where we have been welcomed back for the third time this year. BBQ, Baked Beans, Slaw, and an assortment of homemade desserts were on the menu. One of the fishermen I met a few years back, before I was the director, was Gary Sullivant. He has a powerful testimony that he shared at Friday nights meeting. He shared the triumph and tragedy of his life, and most of all how he found God through it all. It was inspiring to us all to hear Gary share of how he encountered God, but most of all he shared that everyone could and should encounter God personally. Following his testimony two people accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord!!!
With mosquitoes by the millions and the thick humid air of a HOT summer day fifteen teams blasted off from Pendleton Marina with the hopes of a big bag of fish. The day was hot but so was the points race. With a few teams in the race for points it was exciting to see how it would all end up. With solid bags of fish coming across the scales this one was close down to the end.
In the end there was a tie for points champions. Total weight for the year determined the winner and Philip Starks and Adam Starks came out on top over Foster Mitchell and Jason Burt. Congratulations to Philip and Adam.

1st Place: 17.30lbs: John Gray & Chuck Halbert
2nd Place: 15.59lbs : Adam Starks & Philip Starks
3rd Place: 15.00lbs : Don Jones - Brad Rice
