March 27,2010 at Friday nights meeting we had ten teams represented. Due to a conflict in scheduling the speaker that was to give the inspirational message was unable to make it. But after some good chicken spaghetti that Janice McMellon made the members discussed how the year was going and things we could do to make next year better. Remember that I can only be interm director for this year and we need to find a new director so he can shadow me and find out how to run the tournaments. A special thanks goes to Paul Hooker for donating the water tight camera box that was to be given out on Saturday. Also thank you to Lane Peeples for giving the tackle pack as a prize for Saturday. And a very special thank-you goes to Nash First Baptist Church for allowing us to have a place to meet. Well Saturday called for strong winds up to 30mph and were they right, as we took off it was howling. Ten boats left in all directions even though waves were starting to whitecap. We had a good sunny day to fish on Wright Patman Lake with the temps around the 70 deg mark. Most teams reported catching alot of fish but just not long enough to measure 14 inches. All made it back safe giving time for the rough water. When the scales closed things went like this, in 1st place with 17.88lbs were Kenneth McMellon & Doug Rochelle. They took home $600.00 along with 1st BB that Doug caught at 7.20lbs worth another $60.00 They also had 1st in bonus bucks and $62.50. 2nd place went to John Cox & Royce Hickson with 4 fish at 11.46lbs and $300.00 along with 2nd bonus bucks worth $37.50. 3rd place was Paul & Jonathan Hooker catching 5 fish at 9.44lbs receiving $25.00 for 3rd bonus bucks. With 3 fish and 4th place was James Beaird & James Jones. The two prize spots were 5th place being Ray Smith & J. D. Russell receiving a waterproof camera case. They also had 2nd BB with a 4.04lb nice bass and $40.00. Then at 6th place was David Morgason & David Howard catching one fish weighing 3.50lbs worth the tackle pack donated by Lane Peeples.
