Ga- Lake Oconee Results: Feb 19, 2011
As our 2011 season kicked off, we enjoyed the fine folks with Cornerstone Church. As promised, they came through with a steak and baked potato meal fit for a king. Not only did we have steak and potato, we had all the extras too. We certainly owe a debt of gratitude to all who had a part in preparing that wonderful meal. The evening did not go down hill after that either. We were blessed by music from David Compton and DJ, those boys can sing!! Terry Richardson gave our inspirational message about being able to tell who we are by our marking. We can tell a fish by their characteristics, shouldn't others be able to tell we are christians by ours. What a picture to paint. As the sun rose Saturday, we all were blessed to be able to fish in February with temperatures topping out in the mid 70's. There were plenty of anglers searching for sunscreen as much as for bass. The newcomers to the trail of Jack Morris and John Duvall were able to find a sack full. They brought over 15 pounds to the scales. Another new team of Rick Steckelberg and Kevin Stowers were not far behind weighing in a good bag at 14.31 pounds. Rounding out the top three was the steady team of Alan Hampton and Steve Perdue, those anglers weighed in over 12 pounds themselves. The top of the leader board was pretty close. We look forward to joining Blackshear Place for our March 19 tournament on Lake Lanier. Remember entries must be received early to avoid a late penalty. Come out and fish with us as we see if we can catch those big SPOTS.
