Texas North Central Fishers of Men
Eric Leuschner & Ronnie Kelley won our 2nd tournament of the year on Lake Tyler with 5 fish that weighed 17.65 lbs.
We kicked off our Friday night meeting at Central Baptist Church in Tyler. They cooked us Burgers & Dogs with all of the fixins. We had more than enough to eat, in fact we took the left overs and fed our staff lunch on Saturday. Associate Pastor Dan brought The Message to us out of the Book of James. He told us if we would draw near to God that He would draw near to us. He shared with us that Prayer is the means that forms our character and this makes us fit to serve The Living God. Prayer also helps to develop our life style. Thank you Pastor Dan for a great message.
There was a cold front that blew through Saturday morning that dropped the temperature 15 to 20 degrees from Friday. We had 15 teams bring a limit to the scales out of 23 teams that fished. Leuschner & Kelley were using Lake Fork Hyper Stick on the end of a Carolina rig in the grass to catch their fish. They took home $1,162.50 for their winnings. They also was awarded a $100.00 bonus for having Farmers Insurance with our sponsor Steven Hurst. Coming in 2nd for the 2nd tournament in a role was Team Eitel, Lance & Lance Jr. They had 16.91 lbs with the Big Bass of 8.22 lbs. They won $754.50. They used a Red Trap to catch their fish. Randy Parks & Steve Terry came in a very close 3rd place. They were using a Senko & a Red Trap to bring in 16.19 lbs. This won them $437.00. Our 4th place team was Scott Jenkins & Robbie Leach they had 13.80 lbs with a 6.22 kicker that was the 2nd largest bass. All of their fish came on Traps with the big girl hitting a Chrome with a blue back about 2pm. They took home $341.00. We cleared $180.00 from our raffle and paid another place with the money. Mike Brattlof & Martin Boren took that 5th place money with 12.97 lbs. Joey Ridgle who fishes with his wife Pam could not make the tournament, so he sent his young son Zay to fish in his place. Zay asked for prayer that he would catch a big fish Saturday. And God answered with a 4.80 lb bass. Congratulations Zay!
Our next Tournament will be March 31at Lake O The Pines. Our Friday night meeting will be at Johnson Creek Pavilion right next to the ramp.
Don’t forget The 6th Annual Tyler Ford Open will be March 17 out of Lake Tyler Marina. Don’t miss your chance to win a new Truck from Tyler Ford or a new Boat from H&W Marine.
