6th Annual Tyler Ford Open on Lake Tyler Results: Mar 17, 2012
The Big Bass were active today on Lake Tyler. We just finished up our 6th Annual Tyler Ford Open. We had 47 Teams to fish on a very warm and muggy day. We started off with cloudy skies and a little drizzle at 62 degrees, but finished the day with partly cloudy skies and a warm 81 degrees. We paid out over $6,000.00 in cash and prizes, thanks to our great sponsors!
Shane Gibson & David Curtis came in 1st place with 5 fish that weighed 24.41 lbs. They also had a kicker bass that weighed 7.39 lbs. They took $1,887.50 home. Coming in 2nd place was Chris Johnson & Justin Hunley with 5 fish that weighed 20.79 lbs. Justin had Big Bass of the day a 10.83 lb Hog! They won $1340.50! Justin said he caught his fish on a square bill crankbait in 8ft. of water. 3rd place was taken by Melton Miller & Scott Taylor with 5 fish that weighed a close 20.61 lbs. They won $825.00. 4th place was taken by Jonathon Bradshaw & Tom Mayne with 5 fish that weighed 18.50 lbs. Tom had 2nd Big Bass that weighed 8.01 lbs. They won $756.00. 6th Place-Matt Reece & Mark Shannon with 17.26 lbs.
7th Place-Brett & Dylan Sumpter with 17.21 lbs. Dylan had a 7.50 lb kicker.
8th place- Frank Guerra & Ryan Renfro with 16.52 lbs.
9th Place- Todd Smith & Audre Gaspard with 16.31 lbs.
We had a new Ford Truck from Tyler Ford and a new 18.5ft Skeeter Bass Boat from H&W Marine there for a possible give away. Two of our sponsors, C&R Service and Repair, and Mike Brattlof Custom Homes Inc. paid for an insurance policy from Odds On Promotion. And whoever had the Largest Bass of the day, the last two digits of that fish had to match the pre-selected weight in a sealed envelope! With the help of his wife, Justin said he would choose the new Ford F-150 from Tyler Ford, if he won. And wouldn't you know it. The server at Odds On Promotion was down and we couldn't get through to see if Justin's Big Bass matched the pre-selected last two digits. Well when we are all back at home,2 hours later. They finally got everything working. And the last two digits on Justin's fish were .83, and the ones in the sealed envelope were .62. Better luck next year Justin. We were all pulling for you.
We would like to thank. Tyler Ford for their sponsorship in putting this event on We would aso like to thank C&R Service and Repair, Mike Brattlof Custom Homes Inc, H&W Marine, Gander Mnt, Porters Sporting Goods, Farmers Ins.-Steven Hurst, Brass N Blades, and Stellar Oilfield Rentals. for all of their help.
