Pam & Joey Ridgle won our last Tournament of the year in Texas North Central Fishers of Men. It was our biggest pay day ever as they claimed the $2,000.00 bonus money for winning The C&R Service and Repair Invitational on Lake Palestine. Their total winnings were $3,120.00. Their 4 fish were just enough to win with 13.57 lbs over all. Pam also had Big Bass that weighed 7.53 lbs. They caught fish using Wave Worm Tiki Stick & Swim Bugs.
What a dramatic finish it was for Randy Parks & Steve Terry as they placed 2nd in this tournament with 5 fish that weighed 13.26 lbs and came back from 12 points down to win our Point Champions Race. This is their second time to take the crown of being top dogs of the year! Congratulations guys! They won $600.00 plus another $535.00 for being Point Champs. Coming in a close 3rd was Tommy Renfro & Shawn Wildt with 5 fish that weighed 13.14 lbs. They also had 2nd Big Bass that weighed 6.92 lbs. They were using Jigs to catch their fish. This won them $494.00 over all. The 4th place team was Martin Boren & Michael Brattlof with 5 fish that weighed 12.71 lbs. They won $276.00. We sold enough raffle tickets at The Friday night meeting to pay out an extra place. Ronnie Durrett & Paul Ferguson gladly took the 5th place money of $216.00 with their 5 fish that weighed 10.70 lbs.
The fishing on Lake Palestine seemed to be off on this warm and very windy day. The only difference between the top 8 places was having a kicker to go along with the 15 inch fish that most teams were catching.
We would like to thank David Irwin and Tyler Ford for hosting our meeting Friday night. David smoked some of his famous ribs along with some chicken. He said he takes cooking very serious and he was not kidding, some of our guys were going back for thirds. And he still had several racks of ribs left. We appreciate the guys at Tyler Ford for clearing out their show room and bringing in tables and chairs for our meeting. It was an awesome sight to witness The Gospel Message being Preached while The Tyler Ford salesmen were showing cars and waiting on customers.
Our Chaplain Robert Templin did another great job sharing God’s Word out of Psalms 46, which says Be still and know that I Am God, I will fight your battles. What a good reminder to know that He is our refuge, a mighty fortress.
We will have The 7th Annual Tyler Ford Open Tournament on Sept 29,2012. Be sure and help get the word out. Our Regional Championship will be Oct. 26-27, 2012, and remember the meeting is on Thursday Oct 25.
