Flint Creek Results: Feb 11, 2012

First I want to thank the Fishermen that fished the 2nd Fishers of Men event at Flint Creek this weekend and also a special thanks to the 1st Baptist Church of Wiggins for a great Friday night meeting. The mens ministry fixed up a great jambalaya, cole slaw, buttered french bread and sweat tea then topped everyone off with some red velvet cake. After the meal we had some great music by the church musicians and a great message by Pastor Wiley Able on what getting saved means. Very touching message with great meaning. After giving out some Tony Charachere’s cooking kits, some hats and some tackle packs, we went over some rules and presented some blast off numbers before ending with a closing prayer and getting some rest for the tour.

Arriving at the launch in the morning with the temps in the low 40’s and the wind picking up, everyone expected to have a rough day of fishing ahead. As the morning progressed the wind got stronger and everyone was on the trolling motors all day. Though conditions was tough, some nice fish was brought to the scales. The first heavy sack to the scales with a 4 fish limit was Logan Main & Joel Mayfield. Pulling out their first fish and getting the crowd going was a 7.18 giant. This fish would not only get him a paycheck for big fish but put him finishing 3rd overall in the tour with a 12.28 total. Next up was William Ruff and Derek Ladnier weighing in a big fish of 3.93 and have a sack of fish good enough for second place
with 5 fish going 12.83. Last but not least Glen Lott and Wayne Ladner made their way front and center for the clinching. With a big fish of 4.16 and a 5 fish limit weighing 13.41 this team would bring home first place honors and a check worth $704. Thanks to everyone in presenting and fishing this event and hope to see everyone at the Pascagoula River March 10th.
God Bless to all.
