FOM WEST LAKE TOHO KISSIMMEE Results: Feb 25, 2012
The Team of John Myers Jr. and John Myers III rake in the cash for finishing 1st at West Lake Toho with 20.42 lbs
Faith Baptist Church in Kissimmee welcomed us for the Friday evening Meeting and dinner, and I must say that Deric and his help once again served an awesome smoked brisket. The food was absolutely wonderful.
After the meal, Danny Shadron (Division Chaplain) brought a message of hope, asking that we allow our Lord and Savior to take care of all our burdens and needs. He also shared his testimony, and how God completely turned his life around, once he believed, and gave all his burdens to Christ. Thanks Danny for sharing the Word.
We finished the meeting by giving away some nice prizes; such as, Deka Battery, Deep South Fishing Rod, hard and soft baits from Bass Pro, Rod Stand, Coat Rack, Gatorland tickets, Quicksilver Oil, and a $50.00 Bass Pro Gift Card.
The Florida Central Division of the Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail held their season’s 2nd Tournament on West Lake Toho (Lake Front Park) on Saturday February 25th. The 26 Teams were welcomed by wind, wind, and more wind gusting up to 25 mph, but I must say, they all proved that the wind would not hold them back from bringing the fish to the scales. All teams weighed in fish with 73% of them bring in a limit of Bass.
Even with the wind raging, the father and son Team of John Myers III and John Myers Jr. weighed in 20.42 lbs, to take First Place. Their 5-fish limit won them over $1,300.00 bucks. They not only cashed in taking the 1st Place Check, but also the optional 1st Place Bonus Bucks they had previously entered to compete for. They also had the 2nd place Big Bass for the day that weighed in at 8.23, so they received some additional cash for it as well. I understand they rode the waves all the way to Lake Kissimmee to find their fish.
Not far behind them was the team of Keith Carson and John Cox who weighed in an impressive weight of 19.95 lbs. They too entered Bonus Bucks, which help sweeten their overall winnings of $889.00. They also took 1st Big Bass Pot with a HOG that weighed 8.44 lbs. They stayed local and fished Toho to find their fish.
Coming in 3rd was the father and son team of Dan and Jeremy Smith who brought 5 fish to the scales weighing a total of 18.31 lbs.
Jeff Worth and Blaine Partee took 4th Place, with a limit of 5 fish that weighed in at 14.62 lbs.
Our 5th place finishing team of John Brazzell and Josh Davis weighed in a limit of Bass 14.37 lbs.
We also have a Male and Female division, and finishing first was the team of Sharon and Jim Wade.
Next we’ll be fishing Lake Monroe and the St. Johns River, and I’m expecting to see some big weights brought to the scales. All of our teams are fishing for the opportunity to move to the Regional event, where they’ll be fishing for a new 19’ Skeeter. For those of you who haven’t fished with us this year and would like to take a shot at this New Skeeter Boat there’s still time by fishing the remaining 3 tournaments you too could have a chance to qualify, so come on out and join in on the fun.
