FOM MONROE Results: Mar 24, 2012
It turned out to be an awesome weekend, with a great start Friday evening at West View Baptist Church. We were honored to have Clay Littleton as our guest speaker who challenged us by asking about our light, and how well it shines for our Lord Jesus Christ. Do your actions reflect the Word of Christ?
Then came Saturday, which turned out to be a bit windy, but I must say, it was an absolutely beautiful day on the St. Johnís River. The previous reports made it sound as if the teams were going to have a tough day finding the fish, but knowing that we have the Best of the Best fishing with us, I figured they would bring in some nice weights, and that they did. We launched the 26 teams at approximately 7:00, Saturday morning after playing the National Anthem, and the morning was perfect.
Our first place winners were the Father and Son team of Dan and Jeremy Smith who brought to the scales 25.11 lbs. They also had 1st Big Bass (8.22 lbs), and they were in the Bonus Bucks, so they had payday of $1,342.00 for the day. They started out flipping Lilly pads in the river north of Monroe, where they were using a junebug super hog and a half ounce weight. They of course caught their best fish in the first pad patch they hit. NICE JOB Dan and Jeremy.
Coming in at 2nd was Neil Davis/Don Fisher with an impressive weight of 21.49. It must be the Deep South Fishing Rods they use.
The team of Mikey Sikes/Cody Trenary took 3rd with an impressive weight of 21.33 lbs. They fished south on the River.
Coming in 4th was Keith Carson, who fished solo. Keith also caught the 2nd Big Bass for the day, which helped push his total weight to 19.44 lbs.
Our 5th place finishers were the team of David Martindill and Glenn Welborn who tipped the scales with a total weight of 16.73 lbs.
Currently our Point Leaders are the Team of Dan & Jeremy Smith. We have a new Male and Female Leading Team of Steve Rust & Anna Willis.
