Lake Fork Results: Apr 14, 2012
Friday night as the 10 Legacy Teams and their guests entered the Fellowship Hall at FBCQ,their hunger was put into high gear from the smell of Mesquite charcoal cooking chicken right outside the door. Ray & Darren cooked 150 drumsticks while Ray's wife Charlene fixed potato salad, baked beans & rolls for everyone. It was an awesome spread and everyone really enjoyed it. There were a lot of compliments that it was the best chicken they ever had. Thanks ya'll for all your hard work, it was really appreciated!!!
After everyone got all the bar-b-que cleaned off their faces and hands, we were blessed with a message from Trey Kistler. Trey shared his personal testimony with everyone. He went on to talk about how just like we use lures to catch fish, satan will use worldly lures to try and lead us down the wrong path. If we grab satans lures,he will try and destroy us, he wants nothing good for us. Fortunately we don't have to take satans lure because God is also fishing for our souls. God's lure will lead us into a new life of love and hope and will make us a part of His family forever. All we have to do is put our faith in His Son Jesus who died on a cross for our sins. It is God's free gift of grace if we trust in Him. Amen
Saturday morning started off with a lot of wind, cloudy skies and a lot of excitement about the 1:00 weigh in. Bass Champs was having their tournament at the same time and they offered to weigh us in on their stage. They are Skeeter/Yamaha sponsored as we are and their support was a real blessing for everyone. The fish were biting good on Lake Fork and there were 5 limits brought in,and a total of 30 fish that weighed 46.52 lbs. Most of the fish were being caught in shallow water on Flukes,Senkos and worms. Green was the dominate color of the day. Everyone had a great time and caught some fish even though a lot of them were slot fish and had to be released.
1st Place went to Justin Johnson & Mike Ware with 5 fish that weighed 8.09 lbs. They took home $362.50 for their efforts.
2nd Place went to Kyle & Trey Kistler with a limit of fish that weighed 8.08. That was close! They also won 1st Big Bass with a 2.49 winning them a total of $232.50
3rd Place was Johnny Crawford & Mac McIntyre with a limit of 5 that weighed 7.89 lbs. They also had 2nd Big Bass that was 2.39. They won $130.00.
