Lake Hollbrook Results: May 5, 2012
Friday night began our 3rd tournament here at the TNC Legacy Division. We were blessed with hickory smoked hamburgers and hotdogs, baked beans, and a table full of homemade desserts. It was an awesome meal and we are so thankful to James,Tara,Brenda and Dorothy for giving their time to prepare it for everyone. You're all a real blessing!!
After that great meal, James Caldemeyer from I Am Second shared with us some experiences from his life. James said in years past he was living a long way from God. All of his focus was on partying and himself, then one night after leaving a gathering,he passed out behind the wheel on his way home and hit another car head on. The results of this tragedy changed James' life forever as the other person did not survive. James said that this was rock bottom for him and he knew nowhere to turn except back to God,whom he had turned his back on for so many years. James' life has now been transformed by the grace of God and he is living proof of how powerful God is and how He can turn a life around. He went on to tell us that nothing is too big for God to forgive and he also encouraged the youth to never turn away from God. James challenged the adults to continue mentoring, teaching and spending time with the youth so hopefully they can be spared the pain. There is nothing we can do to get to heaven on our own. Without Jesus and the price He paid on the cross we have no hope. Thanks James for opening your life and heart and encouraging us all. Two people rededicated their life to Christ after this message. Amen!!!
Saturday morning started off at Lake Holbrook with some thunder, lightning and heavy clouds. We waited a while for the weather because of the lightning. It started dissipating and we were able to blast off 11 boats at about 6:40. It stayed cloudy until mid morning and winds were light most of the day. It ended up being a great day to be on the lake with a high in the mid 80's. Everyone seemed to have a great time out enjoying God's creation. The fish were biting good too and were not being real picky about color or depth. Fish were caught in deep and shallow water on an assortment of colors from black to silver, white and chartruse. There was also an array of baits, with everything from buzzbaits,pop-r's,chatter baits, spinnerbaits, rattletraps and soft plastics all catching fish. Not much pattern here except hungry post spawn fish. There were 34 fish caught, four limits, and a total wt. of 69.01 lbs.
1st Place for the third time this year was Justin Johnson and Mike Ware. They had a limit that weighed 11 lbs. even. Congratulations!!! They are undefeated and will be shooting for a perfect year next month. Good Luck!!
2nd Place went to Clayton Rhodes and Rick Collis also with a limit of fish that weighed 9.62 lbs.
3rd went to Kevin and Tim Haugh with a 5 fish stringer weighing in at 9.61 lbs. That is as close as it gets.
1st Place Big Bass went to Schuyler and Jeff Robinson with a nice 5.82 pounder. They were also 4th overall.
Great job guys and thanks again to everyone involved for all of their help and time!! Hope to see you all again next month on Lake Winnsboro.
