May 4&5 Jordan Lake

The 4th N.C. Central team event kicked off the week-end at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, N.C. The Outdoors Ministry at Colonial Baptist Church headed up by Ed Strickland and his team were our host. This talented group put together a great meal. This evening, we were served breakfast. Those eggs, grits, hash browns, sausage, bisuits, pancakes and fruit were sooooooooo good!!
Ed Strickland brought the message with his testimony about success, failure and success again with his faith in Jesus Christ guiding him through it all. This was a powerful message about how as believers the Lord grows us as He prunes us through the trials of life. We had eight people rededicate their lives to the Lord.

Tournament day dawned clear and warm. We had unseasonably hot weather all week, 90 degrees and above. The water temperature had jumped to the low 80's. With falling water levels and post spawn, it looked like it was going to be hard to get a bite. However, with 45 teams we knew some would figure it out. There were 10 five fish limits brought to the scales.
Leading the way in 1st place were Jason Suggs and Calton Hall with 14.76 lbs. Close behind in 2nd place with 14.02 lbs. were Michael Carden and Claiborn Cox. In 3rd place were Aaron (Shannon) Stewart and Timothy George with 13.85 lbs. They also had 2nd place big fish weighing 5.02 lbs. The father and son team of Horton and Steve Upchurch weighed in 13.50 lbs taking 4th place. Rounding out the top five were Roger Clary and Merle Knott with 12.66 lbs.
The big fish of the tournament weighed 5.33 lbs and was brought in by Phil Thalheimer and Allen Farman.
It looks like the points race is going to be between the teams of Aaron (Shannon) Stewart/Timothy George and Roger Clary/Merle Knott. If either of these teams stumbles at Falls Lake in June, Tony Barham/Rick Ohlson are ready to jump ahead. Don't forget!!! Falls Lake is the regional qualifier and if you are down in points but have a good finish at Falls Lake you could make it in the top 25 teams.
See you there!

1 Corinthians 1:10 - “[A Church Divided Over Leaders] I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
