We began the North Florida division FOMNTT tournament season on the St. Johns River in Palatka, Florida where there are always some big fish and heavy weights in February. (We were not disappointed.)
We had a great Friday night meeting sponsored by the Cross Road Community Church. Pastor Tim Hall and staff served us absolutely the best BBQ in North Florida. (By the way, Pastor Tim has blessed us by agreeing to be our Chaplain again this year. Thank you, Tim.) Fisher of Men National Director, Al Odom was our guest speaker. Al used John 15:4 as the basis of his moving story of how his faith in God sustained him when he and his family tragically lost their son Sam on the 8th day of August, 2008. During the meeting, the Holy Spirit moved two members to renew their commitment to the Lord.
Florida North would like to welcome back 9 of our teams from last year as well as 2 new teams and 3 teams with new partners.

Saturday started off with the weather in the low 60’s at blast off and warmed throughout the day to the high 70’s by weigh-in. Lee Stalvey and Jason Caldwell took 1st place honors as they brought their “A” game on Saturday with 31.33 lbs. , 1st big fish of 9.41 lbs., and 1st bonus bucks. 2nd place went to Allen Hoper and Mike Jackson with 15.62 lbs. and 2nd bonus bucks. Rounding out the top three were Andy Smith and Joe Whiteside with 14.32 lbs., 2nd big fish of 6.16 lbs., and 3rd bonus bucks. (Since I am serving as interim director, I am allowed to fish with the division.)
Florida North Division says get well soon to Dan Mosley, a member of this division who is recovering from surgery at home and could not fish this tournament. Our prayers are with you Dan. See you at the next tournament.
