Lane Dominates the Harris ChainÖ Thatís what I read on BASS Times magazine this week but didnít know it would be prophetic too.
The Florida Central Legacy Division of the Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail hosted their second event of the season on the Harris Chain in Leesburg, FL. We had 8 teams who blasted off to a foggy, warm morning.
First place went to Ron Lane and Jack Ehrhardt with a total weight of 12.93 lbs and Big Bass of 5.87. Ron and Jack casted made a long run and went through two idle zones to catch their fish. Coming in second place was the team of Kevin Lucas and Robert Anderson with 9.24 lbs. Kevin and Robert used a variety of techniques including flipping and cranking to catch their limit. No trash fish was awarded even though Billy Charland mentioned catching two mudfish in practice.
Our Friday meeting was hosted by Southpointe Baptist Fellowship. A delicious meal of rotisserie chicken, potato salad, slaw, and beans was served. Pastor Mike Storts who is the family pastor at Southpointe challenged us from Johnís gospel. Too many of us are waiting in the boat for Jesus to show up. We need to take a step of faith out of the boat and seek His direction. Donít try to do it on our own.
Our next tournament will be on the Conway Chain where there are lots of fish. Our meeting will be at Bass Pro Shops in Orlando on Friday night. Check out the Details under the schedule section.
