Results from Truman Lake - June 9th.
Friday night meeting participants were treated to a great Taco Salad prepared by Larry & Kay Hess (mostly Kay). Larry was also the speaker and was impressive.
Saturday take off was at 5:30 AM from the Sterett Creek Marina. Orval Dale and Jim Budden continued dominance on Truman - having two firsts and a second in the past three years - with 5 fish weighing 11.42 pounds. They also had the Big Bass, with one weighing 2.97 pounds. All were caught on black & blue jigs close to the take off area.
The team of Bryan and Mike Jackson finished second, taking home first place bonus bucks money, first in the open event, had second big bass, and drug in a 5.35 pound drum to capture the "junk fish" pot of $110.00 - might have been the only time they were happy to catch a drum in a tournament. Besides the drum, they had 4 keepers weighing 8.68 pounds. All were caught on crankbaits in the Little Tebo area.
Garon Smith and Phil Leidner finished second in the bonus bucks with 4 fish weighing 7.15 pounds. The newest team, Scott Burk and AJ Meyer finished 3rd. in the bonus bucks.
