A BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY TO BE OUTDOORS IN GODS CREATION
Fishers of Men, Alabama South held their second tournament of 2012 in Eufaula, Al. Our Friday night meeting was held at Pavilion #4 at Lakepoint Resort. The devil worked against Sharon and I all week and especially on Friday. We didn’t get there when we wanted to and then we didn’t have lights at the pavilion. God was in control as always and we had two lanterns and several of the fisherman had flash lights and we carried on. It was a beautiful night and all were fed I think all they could eat of BBQ Pork tenderloin, chips, salad and homemade deserts. Dr. James Meadows, our chaplain brought our message for the evening talking about the different things that change over time. The main thing, is that our Lord doesn’t change. He will always love us as he showed us when he gave his only son to take away our sins and give us everlasting life. He is always there willing to take us back after we have fallen. It is left up to us as to whether we are going to be Obedient to his will or not. Thank you Dr. Meadows. Friday night we had 21 of the 25 boats represented at the meeting. We had approximately 54 people present and of those we were blessed to have our fearless leader for the Fishers of Men, Southeast Regional Directors wife, Tina and daughter Linzy to come and help us for the weekend. Tinas mother also came. We didn’t have any first time decisions, but we had 3 rededications for the night. Praise the Lord.
Saturday morning was very busy as there were 4 or 5 other tournaments going out of Lakepoint that morning. Two of which I had already had contact with. One the Alabama High School trail and the Eufaula Bass Trail. We all were able to work around each other without any mishaps. Alabama South had safelight to come shortly before 6:00AM. At the end of the day there were 19 limits brought into the scales to be weighed in. Congratulations to the team of Dale Westmoreland and Lance Youngblood. They brought in 5 fish that weighed 16.57 lbs. to take 1st place and had the first big fish that weighed 5.90 Lbs. They caught all of their fish on black and blue jigs. Congratulations to the team of Ryan Ingram and Darrell Trawick. They brought in 5 fish that weighed 16.55 lbs. to take 2nd place. They caught their fish on worms, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Congratulations to the team of Larry Bullock and Roger Caldwell. They brought in 5 fish that weighed 14.38 lbs. to take 3rd place. They caught their fish on black and blue chatterbaits. Congratulations to the team of Wayne and Lisa Cox. They brought in 5 fish that weighed 14.37 lbs. to take 4th place. They also had the 2nd big fish that weighed 5.68 lbs. They caught their fish on white chatterbaits and said they caught a ton of fish. Congratulations to the team of Keith Odom and Patrick Thrash. They weighed in 5 fish that weighed 13.85 lbs. to take 5th place. They caught their fish on white spinnerbaits. All in all it was a beautiful day to get to be outdoors in our Lords creation.
