A BEAUTIFUL, BUT HOT DAY TO BE OUTDOORS IN GODS GREAT OUTDOORS
Fishers of Men, Alabama South held their 4th. Tournament of 2012 at Swift Creek on the Alabama River just outside of Prattville, AL. The Friday night meeting was hosted this year by First Baptist Church of Prattville. They fed us Hot Dogs, with all of the trimmings. They also had chili to go on the hot dogs, as well as several different kinds of potatoe chips. Soft drinks and tea for the drinks as well as several different kinds of deserts. Friday night we had a special guests and I imposed on him to be our speaker. Danny East the Southeast Regional Director and his daughter Linzy came to visit with us. As I said I imposed on Danny to speak and he agreed. He did a great job and spoke from a direction that every fisherman should have been able to relate to. He said that Life is like a Baitcaster reel. It has lots of Backlashes. Life is not always a backlash, but there are a lot of them and the most important thing that we all ignore is the fact that the Bible has all of the rules we need to help with the backlashes if we will just seek them out. Thank you Danny for the wise information that we have not thought about. We had no 1st time professions of faith, but had one rededication. Friday night we had 20 teams of the 21 represented at the meeting. We had 44 people present at the meeting. Saturday morning came early as did safe light. It started out warm and didn’t get any better as the day wore on. There were 17 limits of fish brought to the scales on Saturday for a total of 86 fish weighed in at a total of 188.93 Lbs. Congratulations to the team of Chad Williams and Jeremy Osborn. Chad fished by himself as his partner Jeremy had to work. Chad did a good job though as he brought in 5 fish to the scales that weighed 16.56 Lbs. to take first place. He caught his fish on crankbaits, jig and top water baits. Congratulations to the team of Joe Boutin and Mike Presley. They weighed in 5 fish that weighed 15.45 Lbs. to take second place. They caught all of their fish on top water buzz baits. Congratulations to the team of Keith Odom and Patrick Thrash. They weighed in 5 fish that weighed 13.64 Lbs. to take third place. They caught their fish on jigs, spinner baits, and crank baits. Congratulations to the team of Bobby Cox and James Richerson. They weighed in 5 fish that weighed 11.96 Lbs. to take fourth place. They caught their fish flippin plastics. Congratulations to the team of Michael James and James Blanton. James had to work, but Mike did OK. He caught the first big fish that weighed 4.45 Lbs. and had motor trouble and left around 10.30AM. Congratulations to the team of Wayne and Lisa Cox. They caught the 2nd big fish. It weighed 4.43 Lbs. They caught it first thing that morning on a frog. Our fifth and final tournament for 2012 will be on June 23, 2012 in Demopolis, Alabama on Demopolis Lake. Remember that the entries are supposed to be postmarked 8 days prior to the tournament in order to avoid the late fee. If this is a problem contact me and we will see what we can work out. The Friday night meeting again this year will be hosted by Thomaston Baptist Church in Thomaston, Alabama. Absolutely not entries will be taken on Saturday morning at the ramp.
