Our final tournament of the season! Wow! How time flies. We had our Friday night meeting at the Green Valley Church of Christ in Noblesville. What a wonderful facility. Our taste buds were tantalized with a meal from Jay Ray’s Restaurant. Our own angler, Jeff Hackler and his wife Julie, are the owners and always fix a meal fit for a king. We were blessed to have Bruce Knott speak to us. He is a deacon at Green Valley and is Bill Kehl’s former boss at the Carmel Fire Department. Bruce’s message was about remembering those in our lives who have impacted us for Christ. He told many stories of those in his life who have impacted him. He brought it full circle and asked us if we were living our lives so that we are impacting lives and glorifying God. He told us we need to be thankful for those in our life and try to thank them.
We woke Saturday morning to pleasantly cool weather and low water levels with many exposed rocks and sand bars. Because of the low water level, there were few pleasure boaters which made the fishing wonderful. Each of our 11 teams had at least one fish. Jim Hardie & Danny Spratt wowed us with 5 fish at 15.64 lbs. and 2nd Big Bass at 4.29 lbs. 2nd Place team of Dave & Dustin Blankenship came in early with a 5 fish limit of 15.48 lbs. and 1st Big Bass at 5 lbs. even. I don’t think I have ever seen Dave so excited. 3rd place went to Steve Neal & Fred Lynn with 5 fish at 10.92 lbs. 4th Place goes to Charlie Monds & Steve Estridge with 5 fish at 10.62 lbs. Rounding out at 5th Place was our “Illinois Invasion” team of Carl Parks & Lance Freeman with 5 fish at 8.14 lbs. I hear a wonderful rumor that Carl & Lance will be coming back again next season. We can’t leave off our 6th place team, as they are our season Points Champs. A big congratulations goes out to Jeff Hackler & Russ Dorsey for a great season of consistent fishing.
Great season gang! Hope many of you can make it to the Regional coming up!
