The last tournament for 2012 turned out to be an exciting one with the race for the points championship between four teams coming down to this event. Our Friday night meeting was held at the Moundwood State Park Pavilion with our meal provided by Harvest Baptist Church of Wapakoneta. Our team chaplain John Norris brought us the message and showed us how short our life is compared to eternity and that the decision to follow Christ should be made now. After the meal and the message we had a short meeting, gave out our door prizes, held the tournament draw and sent everyone home by 7:15.
Boat check started at 5:30 Saturday morning and we blasted off fourteen boats at 6:15. After blast off and before setting up for the weigh-in John Norris and I did a little fishing ourselves. We had a great time picking on each other and also caught some fish.
The teams all returned at 1:00 p.m. and shortly after we started the weigh-in. First place went to one of our new teams this year Cole and Bryan McNeal who brought in five bass weighing 9.76 pounds. A bag of fish over nine pounds this time of year on Indian Lake is great catch. Congratulations to Cole and Bryan. Second place went to the team of Tucker and Bryan Mularcik who were fishing their first tournament with us. Bryan and his son Tucker brought in five bass weighing 9.08 pounds with the big bass of the tournament weighing 3.01 pounds. Bryan, who was invited to fish by our Chaplain, John Norris, said he normally does not fish bass tournaments but as much fun as he and Tucker had he would be back next year. In third place was the team of Reid and Trent Spencer with five bass weighing 7.56 pounds. Fourth place went to our 2012 Point Champions Alex Newman and Andy Moser with five bass weighing 6.74 pounds. In fifth place was the team of Dennis and Danny Edwards who had the second big bass of the day weighing 2.67 pounds along with two other fish for a total weight of 5.70 pounds. We were all glad to see Danny and his dad Dennis finish in the money.
