We would first like to express our appreciation to Lakewood Baptist Church of Gainesville. Our Friday night meeting began with a wonderful meal consisting of roast beef, smashed potatoes, lima beans, creamed corn, homemade biscuits and cornbread. Oh, and did I mention the HOMEMADE banana pudding. It was a first class spread of food!! It was good to see Carl and Betty Logan there too. (as well as the hand at the weigh-in)

As the meeting progressed, Jimmy Smith provided our music, and Steve Deal brought our message. Steve is the vice president of H A Sack company in Statesboro, Georgia. As he shared his story, one thing kept coming to my mind, God does have a plan for all of us. Through his struggles and as he stated "the Lord pulling him back in" we were able to understand where he came from and where he is going. Thanks for your message, Steve!!

As Saturday morning dawned, we all were wondering about the weather. We had survived an intense storm throughout the region Friday night, with rainfall amounts being 2-4 inches. Blast off was only delayed by the cloud cover, and once the 26 teams were able to get fishing, the bite was ON. Temperatures began in the mid 50's and by weigh in time, the sun had poked out a time or two to raise the temp to the low 60's. All the teams were able to catch fish. Many stated they caught close to 40 fish. Leading the charge was the team of McMillian/Lee weighing 19.80 pounds. They also had the second big fish with 6.03. Close behind was the father-son duo of Burns/Burns. They too had over 19 pounds to touch the scales, with a 7 pounder big fish. Rounding out the top three was Sowash/Sowash, weighing 17.22. Colton did say he caught the biggest fish of their sack. He certainly was smiles about the fun he had.

We want to remind all of you about our next event, March 24 on Lake Russell. We will be meeting at Dewey Rose Baptist Church. Come out and join us for some great fishing action and fun fellowship. Hope to see you there!!
