We were welcomed with open arms to Dewey Rose Baptist Church for our third stop of the season. The Friday evening meeting consisted of a fine meal of BBQ and all the trimmings. Might I add that the caramel cake was out of this world "tasty." Ben Thompson lead our music for the evening and our very own Berry Parker brought our message. He wanted us to stop and think about what Noah did with the arc. Noah, after much ridicule, was the following the Lord's way. For He knew what was about to happen. Noah did just that, and we should live our lives, trying to follow what the Lord wants us to do. Thanks for the message, Berry!!
As Saturday dawned, 24 teams eased off in search of that big sack. All teams caught fish and had fun in the sun drenched day. The temperature at weigh in was 77 degrees. Numerous teams talked about the sheer numbers of fish they caught. There were a few teams who were able to locate some healthy weighted fish. Leading the pack was the team of Alan Hampton and Steve Perdue, weighing in 15.89 pounds. Just a little more than a pound behind was the team of Tony Beck and Mike Beck, they weighed 14.36, with a 4.74 big fish. Rounding out the top three was the team of Larry Spain and Terry Mintz, they brought 13.55 pounds to the scales. Congrats to all, we look forward to seeing you at Lake Hartwell on April 21. Again we will meet at Sardis Baptist Church and use Gum Branch boat ramp. Come out and join us!!!!
