Lake Hartwell Results: Apr 21, 2012
We had a ball at Sardis Baptist Church. Lake Hartwell was our fourth stop of the season and man didn't the brotherhood at Sardis treat us well. We enjoyed smoked brisket, beans, slaw and dessert. That meal was ones for the books. There were many compliments on the meal.
As the evening progressed, we were entertained by members of the church choir, even the sheriff himself got in on the act. He sure could sing (we were scared to say anything else for fear he would ask for our license and registration) As the evening drew to a close, our friend, Clarence Pope brought our message. His thoughts were for us to be filled with Jesus. Just like a "cotton ball" absorbing ink. From that point, we should not have to worry, for greater is He that is in me!! AMEN
As Saturday dawned, many of our 24 teams were thinking and wishing they would have brought a rain suit. The weather worked out and we had a fantastic day on the lake. Teams did report that they did get a little wet though. As the temperature climbed from 61 up to 78 by weigh in, the fishing seemed to decline. The team of Alan Hampton and Steve Perdue, led the field, weighing a sack 15.38. Placing second was the familiar team of Steckelberg and Stowers, they had 14.76 lbs. Rounding out the top three were the Beck brothers, their sack tipped the scales at 14.30, anchored by a big fish of 5.27.
We look forward to finishing out our season at Clarks Hill in 2 weeks. The championship points race is close and this next tournament will provide an exciting finish. Come out and join us as we crown another division champ team.
We would like to take this time to thank the Hart County Chamber of Commerce and specifically Nicki Meyer. Through her efforts, we were ensured a great facility to use and food for Saturday. If you missed the BBQ Saturday, you certainly missed out. Thanks again Nicki!!
