The first tournament for the North Carolina East Legacy series was held on 14 April 2012. Eleven teams fished the tournament going out of the launch site of Bayside Marina and Grill in Edenton, North Carolina. Everything kicked off with our Friday night meeting and dinner hosted by the First Assembly of God Church in Edenton. This is the 6th consecutive year that the church has hosted our event. The church did a wonderful job by feeding a crowd of 47 people a meal of Spaghetti, salad, green beans and toasted bread and again this year the ladies from the First Church of the Nazarene in Elizabeth City provided the deserts. For the 4th year a beautiful sheet cake with the FOM Legacy logo was provided by the Farm Fresh Grocery store of Elizabeth City. The message was brought by the Rev. Randy Pierce, pastor of the .the First Assembly of God Church in Edenton. As usual, Pastor Pierce was outstanding and I know for myself, brought a wonderful, inspiring message.
Tournament morning dawned cool but the day would warm nicely and the fish would bite. Our 11 teams brought 45 fish to the scale weighting in at 95.01 pounds. All fish were released alive. First place went to the team of Patrick and Isaiah Seigh who brought to the scales a really nice sack of fish. Their five fish limit tipped the scales at 17.46 pounds. Their days catch was anchored by the big fish of the tournament, a 5.16 pound lunker. The Seigh’s took home $335 in winnings. Second place, and first bonus bucks went to the team of Gerald and Morgan Murray with a five fish limit going 12.03 pounds. The Murray’s also had second big fish, a nice 3.86 pound bass. Gerald & Morgan pocketed $274.50 for their efforts. Third place, and second bonus bucks went to the team of Scott and Aidan Mummert who bought 9.69 pounds to the scale and received $135.50 in winnings. The team of Kirk and Trent Nixon who came in forth but third in Bonus Bucks received $35. Congratulations to all the teams who participated and to the team of Tony & Sarah Lilly who won the JB Custom rod in the raffle drawing.

1 Corinthians 1:10 - “[A Church Divided Over Leaders] I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
