Our fourth and final tournament for the 2012 tournament year was held on Oct 6th on the Little River. A big thanks to the lady’s from the First Church of the Nazarene for serving the teams a great fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings!! We would also like to thank Farm Fresh of Elizabeth City for the sheet cake they supplied. Pastor Glen of the 1st Church gave a great message on Jesus feeding the crowd with 2 fish and 5 loafs of bread and the Periodical Son.
The teams awoke Saturday morning at Hall's Creek boat Ramp to light and cool winds. But in the end the team of Gerald and Spencer Murray came in first with the only 5 bass limit that tipped the scales at 9.37 pound. Second place went to the team of David & Joshua Parker with 3 bass weighing 8.33 pounds and Third place going to the team of Tommy Houlroyd & Tyree Brooks with 3 bass at 6.47 lbs. Big fish honors went to the father/daughter team of Tony & Sarah Lilley with a 4.82 pound bass. David & Joshua Parker had second big fish at 4.65 lbs.
At the end of the weigh in, we had three raffle drawings. The first drawing was for a custom fishing rod from J.B. Custom rods. The team of Rob & Colin Campbell having the winning ticket. We also raffled off a bait caster rod & reel combo along with a spinning rod & reel combo, donated by Bayside Marina. Sarah Lilley ended up a great day by having both winning tickets!!
I would like to thank all who prayed and helped me during the tournament as this was the first that I did as the director. A very special Thanks to my wife Faye, Buck Buchanan, Tom Houlroyd, Chuck Cullins, and all of my church family for their support and prayers. This was my “first” tournament as a director and things went pretty easy thanks to everyone. I also would like to thank my Lord Jesus Christ for giving me a chance to help spread his words and teachings to our youths.
