The fourth Team Series event of 2012 for the NC East Division of the Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail was held on the Yeopim River at Bethel Fishing Center in Hertford, NC on June 16. The weather forcast called for windy conditions and low water. The wind had blown from the NE all week prior to the tournament and the water was about a foot lower than normal. The wind kept many teams from traveling to other rivers due to the rough conditions on the Albemarle Sound. The result was a tough bite and lower than normal weights for most of the field. Of the 23 boats in the field, only 9 teams were able to weigh in a 5-fish limit.

The Friday night meeting was held at the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department and the message was brought by Rev. James Spaugh of Bagley Swamp Wesleyan Church. There was 1 first time decision for Christ and 3 rededications noted on the response cards after the invitation.

The meal was catered by Bob BQ Catering, owned by Bob Carson. The barbeque and fried chicken was enjoyed by the fishermen and staff. It was topped off with ice cream sundies for dessert.

The tournament was won by Charles Goff and Bobby Clarke with a weight of 12.49 lbs. Their winnings came to $1180.00 which included $250.00 from Bonus Bucks. Goff and Clarke are currently in 1st place in the points race with only one event left to go in the season. They lead the second place team of Tom Foster and David Gardner by 5 points, followed by Frank Gunia and Gary Sawyer in third place just 6 points off the pace. Gerald Murray and Kevin Jones are in fourth place, 8 points behind the leaders.

Second place in the Yeopim Tournament went to Murray and Jones with 11.55 lbs Their payout was $668.00 which included $150 from Bonus Bucks. Third place was taken by Foster and Gardner with 10.79 lbs. and they received $472.00 including $100.00 from Bonus Bucks. Fourth place went to Derek Smithson and Chad Pennell with 10.66 lbs. Their total payout was 249.00.00.
