The 1st Maryland Division F.O.M. Tournament turned out some of the nicest bags I've seen since being a tournament director. The Upper Bay put on a showing even with some teams struggling trying to find a pattern and locating the fish after a cold front came through and water temperatures dropping as much as 12 degrees after one week. We had 18 teams in attendance with 43 attending the meeting.
The Team of Tom and Jimmy Rufenacht brought in 5 fish bag weighing in at 22.27 lbs and winnings of $936 for 1st Place and 1st Place Bonus Bucks. Their winning pattern was throwing rattle traps for their win.
2nd Place Team of Randy Keen and Randy Gabel had the 2nd of only 3 five fish limits with 21.51 lbs taking in 2nd place checks and the tournaments big fish of 5.93. Their total winnings was $594.
Bob Moody & Frank Daniels finished out the 3rd 5 fish limit for 3rd place with 21.43 lbs. Their bag included the 2nd big bass of the tournament tipping the scales at 5.84 lbs. Their checks included: 3rd place, 2nd big bass & 2nd place bonus bucks for $350.
2nd & 3rd place finishers also stated their winning pattern was a rattle trap type bait for their bass.
Randy Yarnall and Rick Rush brought in 4 bass for 13.03 lbs with 3rd place bunus bucks. And Tad Takeuchi & Jay Sivel rounded out the top 5 with 4 bass for 12.79 lbs.
I want to thank 1st Assembly of God in Elkton, Maryland. They put on a great dinner each time we go and visit this church. It's great to see all their staff who minister to Fishers of Men. Also, Doug Griddley brought forworth a great message. His testimony brought one 1st time new commitment along with 2 rededications.
