Bohemia River - Upper Bay Results: May 12, 2012
RETER & WOODRUFF take their 2nd tournament in a row with 24.26 lbs.
Thanks to 1st Assembly of God in Elkton, Maryland hosting the Friday night meeting for our 3rd tournament. What a great meal provided by them... pulled beast. Yes, pulled beast. It was a mixture of pork & venison. Best I've ever had. It was served with steak fries & corn. Pie was our deliscious dessert.
Our message was given by one of our competitors - Bob Moody. Bob spoke on scriptures from the book of James chapter 3: 4 & 5 And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. Two new recommitments came from Bob's testimony Friday. I am blessed to be surrounded by great men.
Today's tournament turned out as one of the best tournaments I've seen here on the Upper Chesapeake Bay for a Fishers of Men tournament. Paul Reter & Michael Woodruff brought in a 5 fish limit for 24.26 lbs. claiming 1st Place, 1st Big Bass & 1st Place Bonus Bucks - good for $1122.00. I guess you can't ask for a better day than that.
Coming in 2nd place was the team of Ron Horton & Bob Metzgar. The also won 2nd place bonus bucks with their weight of 19.65 lbs - good for $558.
Taking the last paying spot just .10 away was the team of Skeeter Lloyd & Brandon Lloyd with 19.55 lbs. They also won 3rd place bonus bucks bringing their winnings to $294.
Rounding out the top 5: Randy Yarnall & Rick Rush with the 2nd big bass (5.18 lbs & $76). Their weight was 19.37 lbs. Jay Sivel & Tad Takeuchi finished in 5th with a fine bag of 18.71 lbs.
19 teams competed with 14 out of 19 having a 5 fish limit. A total of 82 bass came to the scales for a total weight of 282.05 for an average of 3.43 lbs per bass.
