The second tournament of the 2012 East Kentucky Division was this weekend on Paintsville Lake.
Friday night our teams were treated to a feast of barbeque ribs, baked potatoes, beans, cornbread, slaw, soft drinks and many homemade pies by the great folks at Hutch Chevrolet, Buick, GMC.
Hutch Chevrolet, Buick, GMC not only provided a great location for our meeting and a super meal for all the anglers present but also provided a Chevrolet cap, key ring and a can cozy for all the anglers as well. Thank you Bob, Todd, and all the great members of Hutch Chevrolet, Buick, GMC for all you do for our division and the folks in Paintsville.
Philip Wireman presented a message from the 53rd chapter of Isaiah which describes the torture Jesus would and then did suffer for each and every one of us. Philip also shared an emotional, personal testimony of how a wonderful day fishing turned to tragedy and how he lost his fishing buddy, his father-n-law in a boating accident. He reminded each of us how we are not sure of tomorrow and how quickly our lives can change. We better be ready.
Saturday morning the teams were greeted by fog as they launched early in the pre-dawn morning. After a short delay and amid the distance gobble of turkeys the teams made their way out on the clear waters of Paintsville Lake around 7:00 AM.
Very clear skies, clear cooling water, and a stiff breeze made the fishing tough as only half the teams were able to weigh in fish.
The team of Brandon Holbrook and Cory Holbrook capture first and big fish with a 2.41 largemouth. Mike Miller and Tommy Kouns took second with a 1.99 largemouth. Was a tough day on the water but everyone was all smiles as we sang Happy Birthday to Brandon on his 21st.
As the teams weighed in they were treated to a double cheese burger from McDonalds, soft drinks and cupcakes. The cupcakes were to celebrate Brandon Holbrook’s 21st birthday as he shared the special day by competing (and winning) this event. Happy Birthday.
We really appreciate everyone who came out and participated in the event and we look forward to seeing you at Herrington Lake on April 27 - 28.
Thanks again to everyone at Hutch Chevrolet, Buick, GMC for the meeting location, the meal, the fellowship and the support of the outreach.
