Our Friday night banquet was hosted by First Baptist Church of Quitman. We are grateful to Bro. Dennis Smith and First Baptist for hosting our meeting. Bro. Dennis & First Baptist fed us pork tenderloin and all the fixings. Bro. Dennis also spoke to us about "our passion in life".
Saturday proved to be a tough day on the lake at Greers Ferry. Even the locals complained that the fish were not biting as good as they had been. With a beautiful sunrise the boaters blasted off at 6:00 a.m. They returned at 3:00 p.m. with their day's catch. Cody Davis & Tim Marshall, who are the 2012 Regional & National Tournament winners took first place with five fish weighing 13.17 lbs. Mike Crump & Jeff Cooper came in 2nd with five weighing 12.01 lbs. Mike & Jeff also won first place big bass with a largemouth weighing 3.68 lbs. 3rd Place went to Mitchell Drum and Kevin Owens with 4 fish weighing 6.82 lbs. Jerry Harris & Eric Deckelman weighed in the 2nd big bass with a largemouth that weighed 3.35 lbs.
Special thanks goes to Sugar Maple Inn. They gave us a discounted room rate for a one night's stay. That's hard to find. Their rooms are very spacious and clean. Great place to stay!!!
