We had some cloudy and cooler-than-expected weather for our April Team Series tournament on Lake Greenwood. 17 boats participated in the event.

Friday night’s meeting was hosted by Temple Baptist Church. We thank Pastor Johnny McDaniel and all the fine ladies and gentlemen that had a part in the preparation and serving of the delicious meal of chicken wings and tenders, cornbread salad, green beans and potatoes, macaroni & cheese, rolls, and an extensive and delectable cupcake spread. Thank you all for giving of yourselves to support the ministry of Fishers of Men. The message was preceeded by Mr Horace Bennett singing “Wore Out” and playing his guitar. Pastor Johnny shared a great bass fishing story and introduced Benny Arnold, his boat mechanic, who gave his personal testimony of what Christ has done in his life and then challenged everyone to give their lives to Jesus for true fulfillment and their own “story to tell”. Pastor Johnny followed up with a message that challenged us to seek true peace by finding out what God’s purpose is for our lives.

We began our middle-of-the-season tournament at the boat ramp of Greenwood State Park with a bit of fog on the main lake. Saturday was mostly cloudy, and finally warmed up late morning. The wind did pick up a bit throughout the day, but died back down around weigh-in. After an early set-up with help from Calvin and Vickie Murphy, we were able to help weigh in a high school team tournament as well as the Palmetto Bonus Bucks Trail.

Thank you to Tom Cloer III & Pastor Johnny McDaniel for the help with check-in and blast off. A big thanks for a fun morning out riding and fishing with Pastor Johnny in his boat!! Thank you to Allen and Dee Stanley (AKA “Grandee & Papa”), also, for lunch and for spending tournament time with our two most important responsibilities: Monte and Riley! We appreciate all the effort put into writing, designing, and printing the great meeting handouts by Co-Chaplain Annette Gentry!!
