Clinton Lake Results: May 26, 2012
The Temperatures were hot but the bite was HOTTER!
The Central Illinois Division completed it's second event for 2012 this Memorial Weekend at Clinton Lake. The Friday night pre-tournament meeting was held at the First Baptist Church in Farmer City where they treated us to another feast of fine home cooked vittles. After supper we heard a challenging message about stepping up and being the man God has called us to be.
The forecast Saturday predicted near record temperatures but that didn't stop thirteen teams from competing to see if they coould scratch out a limit of five bass. The problem wasn't catching fish but how big a sack each team could bring in. One team I spoke to said he had a limit and then culled every single fish. After the weigh-in was finished it was the team of Ian Estes, and Michael Sanders who would take the win and almost crack the twenty pound mark with their best five weighing 19.98 pounds and earning them a check for $1,000. Second place was the team of Ray Odom, and Michael Norris with a limit of five weiging 15.44 pounds earning them a check for $442.00. Great job guys! All in all, ten of the thirteen teams weighed in limits. The last place finishing team that weighed in a fish was the team of Kerry, and Cory Malone. They each received a B&R Outlaw Rod.
Our next event is Saturday June 2nd at Clinton Lake for the Christy Massey Memorial Tournament which is an OPEN tournament. Payout is 80%. Entry fees are $160 and there will be a pre-tournament meeting at BAUM Chevrolet in Clinton. The meal is being provided by Ted's Garage. Yummy!
