What a great start to our 2012 Legacy Season! Many thank you's go out to our host church Rockford United Methodist. Roger and Mary Whitlock and their crew really took good care of us again this year. We had 50 folks in attendance, enjoyed a great hot dog dinner and were blessed by a great message from our speaker Mike Campbell!! What wonderful results when we give our efforts to the Lord. We enjoyed seeing three glorious souls give thier lives over to Jesus Christ as well as five re-commitments to our Saviour. Thank you to each person for listening and responding to that wonderful call from God.
Saturday morning dawned with the forcasted thunder showers holding off and we blasted off 15 boats to search the banks for our elusive green friends (the bass). 1 o'clock found some nice 5 bass limits. We enjoyed seeing 7 new teams join our division with 2 of them drawing a check. 1st place took 13.52 lbs. and was weighed in by new team members Jason and Colton Terry. They also had our 2nd biggest bass of the day of 3.74 lbs. Congratulations to this great new addition to our division! 2nd place was Jared Sowers and Seth Comer with 11.69 lbs. 3rd place winnings went to Dennis and Seth Wright with 10.59 lbs anchored by our big fish of the day at 3.87 lbs. Good fish Seth! 4th place also found the new team of Wayne and Brock Smelser with 10.45 lbs. Rounding out the paying postions was Ralph and Justin Hicks with a total of 9.66 lbs. A big congratulations to each of you and the race for the 2012 Va. West Legacy points championship sponsored by Jared Sowers and Sowers Electric has begun. Also, I'd like to put out a big thank you to Mark Whitman and Dennis Wright for sponsoring our Jr. Angler Big Fish of the Year Award. After tournament #1, the leader is Seth Wright at 3.87 lbs. We'll see how thing shake out at Philpott on May 12. Thanks again to each angler, server, helper, worker, and I especially want to thank my Saviour, Jesus Christ for the opportunity to serve Him as well as you in this wonderful Ministry.
