The second Legacy – Eastern Kentucky Fishers of Men event for 2012 (and qualification event for2013 national) was held on Friday evening September 28th with tournament on Saturday September 29th.

The Friday night meeting was held at the Cabinet for Family Services, 180 Bulldog Ln, Louisa Ky. We had a great meeting room with plenty of tables and chairs providing a comfortable meeting location.

After registration the anglers were treated to a meal of hamburgers and hotdogs with all the trimmings. Along with the grilled fair for desert we had homemade brownies and Rice Krispy treats.

Following the meal our devotional time took us into the book of Jonah. We talked about how when we are on the water and we are conflicted with wanting to go to more than one location to fish, how sometimes we want to go one direction and really feel we should go another. Jonah was the same way, he knew he should listen to the Lord, but wanted to go away from Nineveh. Like ourselves when we have the struggle in our lives, and do not listen to the Spirit within, we have wind and storms come against us.

Thankfully, like Jonah, the Lord will put us on track.

After devotional multiple doors prizes were given, along with gift bags to each person present at the meeting.

Saturday morning was predicted to have heavy fog and we expected the launch to be delayed. However, the morning brought a clear day and the anglers safely launched into the dawn.

The day cleared as we approached weigh in time and we could see deer on the island across from the ramp.

The team of Jason and Grant Rice took first place with 6.61 and big fish with a nice 5.11. Congratulations.

My gratitude and thanks to all those who make these events possible. Thank you.

Thank You Lord,
God Bless.
