North Carolina - East Division
About This Division
If you are looking for a first-class bass fishing experience with an opportunity to advance to Regional and National competitions then Fishers of Men is for you! The top prize at our National Championships is one of three fully rigged Skeeter bass boats, powered by a Yamaha outboard.
If you are looking for great bass fishing competition with an outstanding payout in the Albemarle Sound area, then the NC EAST DIVSION of Fishers of Men is for you! Our average total payout is around $2000-2500 or more per event. Of course, this varies depending on the number of teams entered in the tournament.
The 2013 season will be the 7th year for the NC East Division Team Series. We are looking forward to a great year of fishing, fun and fellowship.
Our pre-tournament meetings on the Friday night prior to each tournament is what sets Fishers of Men apart from other trails. We have great food, prizes and an inspirational message at each meeting. Our anglers tell us that the meeting is their favorite part of the tournament weekend. The fellowship with other anglers is eagerly anticipated at each event. Many of our members have made friendships that will last a lifetime.
Our members and guests are spiritually encouraged and challenged by messages from inspirational speakers. We have seen God's hand at work in the lives of our fishermen. Ten of our members have come to put their trust in Christ and 128 have rededicated their lives as they strive to be more like Him.
Then there is the food! It is second to none. Each meal is catered by a local restaurant and desserts are home made. You will not go away hungry!
In addition to all of this, you can win lots of fishing tackle, lures and apparel with our raffles and door prizes.
2012 was an outstanding year for the NC East Division. Charles Goff and Bobby Clarke won the Points Championship and will be competing in the National Championship held on Clark's Hill Lake in Appling, GA, May 16-18. Two additional teams, Tom Foster and David Gardner and Gary Sawyer and Frank Gunia, qualified for the National Championship by way of their finishes at the East Regional held on Lake Erie near Erie, PA.
NC East Division teams have won one National Championship and two East Regional Championships over the past 6 seasons.
